Just A Little About Me
Hi, I’m Michael, and welcome to Low Fare Fun.
I’ve always believed that you shouldn’t have to spend a fortune to have a great trip.
That sounds obvious, but somewhere along the way, travel advice became obsessed with luxury hotels, expensive restaurants, first-class upgrades, and “once-in-a-lifetime” experiences that seem to require a once-in-a-lifetime bank account.
That’s not what Low Fare Fun is about.
I created this site for everyday travelers who want to get out and see more of the world without watching their travel budget disappear.
I’m All About Getting More for Your Money
I’m the kind of person who will happily spend money when something is actually worth it.
But I don’t like paying $300 for something I can get for $150 just because I didn’t know where to look.
Flights are a good example.
Sometimes the cheapest fare isn’t really the cheapest once you add baggage, seat fees, transportation, and everything else. The same thing happens with hotels, rental cars, restaurants, attractions, and even airport parking.
The little expenses have a way of adding up.
That’s where I think smart travel planning makes a real difference.
At Low Fare Fun, I look for practical ways to lower those costs without sucking the fun out of the trip.
I’m Not a Luxury Travel Guru
And I’m not going to pretend to be one.
I’m an everyday traveler who enjoys finding good deals, comparing options, and figuring out where you can save a few dollars without sacrificing the experience.
Sometimes that means finding a cheaper flight.
Sometimes it means staying slightly outside the most expensive tourist area.
Sometimes it means discovering a great local restaurant instead of eating every meal in a tourist trap.
And sometimes, spending a little more actually makes sense.
That last one matters.
Cheap isn’t always a bargain.
My goal is to help you understand where your money is best spent—and where you’re probably paying more than you need to.
What You’ll Find at Low Fare Fun
I’ll cover the things that can make or break a travel budget—without making travel feel like one big exercise in cutting corners.
Finding better fares and understanding what you’re really paying for.
Ways to reduce accommodation costs without sacrificing convenience.
Practical ways to get around without letting transportation eat your budget.
Affordable places to eat that are actually worth your money.
Fun attractions and experiences that don’t require a huge budget.
Simple planning tips that can help prevent unnecessary expenses.
Money-saving ideas tailored to specific destinations.
Useful deals, websites, services, and tools that can stretch your budget.
Smart ways to get more from the money you’ve already planned to spend.
A Quick Note About Recommendations
I’ll also share travel resources and services I find useful. If I recommend something, the goal isn’t simply to put another affiliate link in front of you. It should have a reason for being there—and, ideally, help you make a better travel decision.
The Philosophy Behind Low Fare Fun
Here’s the simple version:
Spend less where it doesn’t matter. Spend more where it does.
If saving $40 on a hotel means you end up an hour away from everything you wanted to see, maybe that wasn’t a great deal.
But if you can save $40 on the hotel and still stay somewhere convenient?
Now we’re talking.
That’s the kind of travel savings I’m interested in.
Because the point isn’t to see how little you can spend.
The point is to make your travel dollars go further.
Why I Started This Site
I’ve spent a lot of time working on websites, researching products and services, and learning how online businesses actually work.
Along the way, I’ve also learned something about how people make purchasing decisions online.
Most people don’t want another sales pitch.
They want someone to help them figure things out.
That’s what I want Low Fare Fun to do.
You don’t need to become a travel hacker. You don’t need spreadsheets covering your dining room table. And you certainly don’t need to spend hours searching 47 websites before booking a hotel.
Sometimes you just need to know where to look and what to watch for.
That’s where I come in.
Let’s Make Travel More Affordable
Travel should be about the places you visit, the people you meet, the food you eat, and the experiences you bring home.
Not worrying about whether you just paid too much for a hotel room.
So if you’re looking for practical ways to travel for less while still having a genuinely good time, you’re in the right place.
Welcome to Low Fare Fun.
I’m glad you’re here.
